World Language Proficiency Testing

About Proficiency Testing & Our World Language Competency Based Credit Program

  • Students who test can earn up to 4.0 world language credits towards high school graduation.
  • Students who earn 4.0 credits are eligible for the distinguished Washington State Seal of Biliteracy on their high school diploma and transcript.
  • Students also benefit from by freeing up credits for other world language study, elective course exploration, or credit recovery.
  • It is important to note that competitive colleges still require students to complete classroom-based world language credits.  Students should check with colleges and seek advice from their high school counselors.


Online Registration for Testing

  • Registration window:  November 30 – January 5
  • Testing date:  February 1 or February 8 (students will be assigned a date based on their language)
  • Testing time:  8:00 a.m.
  • Testing location:  MSHS Library (transportation will be provided for middle school students)
