April 9 School Board Meeting to be Hosted Online

In accordance with the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 illness, the Snoqualmie Valley School District Board of Directors will host its upcoming regular School Board meeting this Thursday, April 9 -- in an online format.

The District is planning to host the meeting as a Zoom webinar format as follows:

  • The online meeting will begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 9.
  • For those who would like to provide Public Comment, please email your comments in advance to wrightc@svsd410.org, by 4 p.m. the day of the school board meeting. Your comments will be shared with the Board.  (The Public Comment portion of each meeting is a time for the Board to receive comments; they do not address questions during board meetings.)
  • To observe the electronic School Board meeting, please follow the instructions below. We suggest you login 5 minutes before the start of the meeting, to test the audio.
  • All attendees will be muted during the meeting and video will only be enabled for the superintendent, board members and presenters.
  • If you have comments on a specific agenda item for the Board during the meeting, participants will be able to type their comment via the “Q&A” button. While the school board does not answer questions during meetings, this feature will enable them to view your comments regarding the topic being discussed. If appropriate, the board will read the comments aloud, with one comment allowed per participant.
  • Following the meeting, you may also submit your comments via email to wrightc@svsd410.org, who will forward them to the Superintendent and Board.
  • Click here for the updated April 9, 2020, Agenda. This agenda has been revised to prioritize necessary and routine matters, as well as matters related to the district’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak and current public health emergency.
  • If you cannot join this webinar meeting, the District typically posts audio recordings of school board meetings on the School Board Podcasts. Please allow a week for this to be posted.

Prior to the governor’s proclamation (which requires that attendance at open public meetings be remote, not in-person), the SVSD School Board met in an emergency meeting on March 19 to pass Resolution 855 -- Emergency – Suspension of Policy. Similarly, this resolution allows for special adjustments to the public meeting format, with measures intended to help prevent the transmission of illness.
