Due to the coronavirus outbreak, mandated school closures, and rules adjusted by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), our last day of school will be Friday, June 19, 2020. On April 29, OSPI adopted emergency rules for school districts to apply to waive instruction hours/days, which our district plans to pursue.
Therefore, we are adjusting the current Snoqualmie Valley School District 2019-20 school calendar as follows, in anticipation of changes to the last day of school:
The last day of school for seniors (MSHS and TRS) is Friday,June 12, 2020.
The last day of school for Preschool, PPP and TLC is Thursday,June 18.
The last day of school for Kindergarten through grade 11 is Friday, June 19.
SENIORS: To provide additional time and opportunity for seniors to finalize graduation requirements and return missing assignments, the last day of instruction for seniors will be Friday, June 12. While planning continues around a safe (and most likely virtual) way to honor our Class of 2020 graduates, families should mark their calendar for celebrations on the following dates:
Two Rivers High School graduation – Friday, June 12
Mount Si High School graduation – Friday, June 19
TLC celebration -- TBD
STAFF: The last day for staff (certificated and classified), who work a 180-day school calendar schedule, will be Thursday, June 25. If you have questions about your contract, please contact your supervisor, union leadership or HR.
Click here for the updated e-calendar as well as the one-page 2019-20 calendar pdf on the district website. (With this change, make-up days that were added in June in response to the January snow closures are no longer in effect. June 19 will be the last day for students.)
UPDATE on SVSD Services offered during the school closure:
Food Services: Please note that SVSD breakfast/lunch service will not be available on Memorial Day, May 25. Otherwise, the free meals for children – which has been offered Monday-Friday since schools closed mid-March – will continue through Thursday, June 25. See details.
Child Care Services: The last day of district-sponsored school-aged child care – which is currently offered for parents/guardians who work in essential health care, emergency response and grocery store services – will be Friday, June 19. (After this date, families may register for services directly with the Snoqualmie YMCA or Si View Metropolitan Parks, if desired.) See details.
