SVSD Staff Support Governor's Vaccination Mandate at a High Rate

Yesterday, October 4, was the final date that a person could receive the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or the second dose of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and allow the required two-week period following the shot, to qualify as fully vaccinated by the October 18 deadline set by Governor Inslee’s mandate for all school employees in Washington State.

Today, we are pleased to report that 92.1% of Snoqualmie Valley’s 883 regular school staff have verified they will be fully vaccinated by October 18, and 7.9% received medical or religious exemptions. Those who received exemptions must also continue to meet the following requirements:

  1. Maintain 6-foot physical distancing from others to the extent feasible within their job assignment.
  2. Wear a surgical mask, or better, when on District property at all times other than when they are actively consuming food and beverage. The District will provide surgical masks upon request.
  3. Consume food and beverage in a private setting, away from other individuals.
  4. Submit to periodic COVID-19 testing as requested by the District.

Special thanks to our Human Resources team for managing this mandate from the Governor, to our employee associations for partnering with us in these efforts, and to our staff for their diligence in responding.
