Mount Si High Schools’ Speech & Debate Team received special recognition from the National Speech & Debate Association. The team is ranked among the top 20% of schools nationwide and earned membership in the association’s prestigious “100 Club.” This distinction is given to a chapter when students earn more than 100 points and degrees in the speech and debate honor society, based on competitive and service-related activities.
“This milestone is remarkable because it demonstrates outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skills – including communication, research, listening, writing and organization,” stated J. Scott Wunn, executive director of the National Speech & Debate Association, in a letter to Chelsea King, Mount Si Speech & Debate advisor. “Keep up the great work, and best wishes to Mount Si High School for another successful season!”
