Successful Soup Bowl Supper Helps Fight Hunger

Approximately 100 people attended the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, hosted by the Mount Si High School Cheer Team and Culinary Arts program, on January 11.  The event raised $1,430 that will be split between two local food banks:  the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank and the Fall City Food Pantry.

This community event was a group effort with art classes at Twin Falls Middle School and Chief Kanim Middle School creating unique ceramic bowls, local restaurants donating delicious soup, Culinary Arts students assisting with food preparation, Mount Si cheerleaders coordinating the event and serving soup, and student musicians providing live jazz to complete the dining experience.

Special thanks to 16 businesses for donating food and supplies to help make the event a success. Listed alphabetically, they include: Ana’s Mexican Restaurant, Copperstone Family Spaghetti Restaurant, Costco MSC Technical Services Team, Finaughty’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, Georgia’s Bakery Café & Deli, Il Paesano Ristorante Italiano, Infusion Bar and Grill, Little Si Restaurant and Lounge, Mount Si Golf Course, North Bend Bar and Grill, North Bend QFC, North Bend Safeway, Rio Bravo Mexican Restaurant, Snoqualmie Brewery, Snoqualmie Ridge Safeway, and Twede’s Café.
