Middle School SVSD Summer Bridge Program*

The Middle School Summer Program is designed for students who are currently in grades 6-8 (in the 2018-19 school year) who would benefit from extra support to meet academic standards in the Core Math Pathway and/or English Language Arts (ELA). Students from previous summer school sessions have enjoyed the smaller class sizes, the opportunity to make real improvements in their skills, and the more relaxed learning environment. Cost is $250 per session. For middle school students, two sessions will run July 8-25 (Monday-Thursday), at Timber Ridge Elementary School:

  • Session 1: English Language Arts (8-10:30 a.m.)
  • Session 2: Math (10:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.)

Elementary School SVSD Summer Bridge Program*

The Elementary School Summer Program is for students currently in grades 1-5 (in the 2018-19 school year) who need extra support to meet academic standards in Math and/or English Language Arts. The District also offers a Kindergarten to 1st Grade Transition course which helps our youngest students move with greater ease into 1st grade in the fall. The Summer School Program for elementary students is ideal for students who sometimes struggle to keep up. In a safe, friendly and supportive environment, children will learn to become better-prepared students. Cost is $250 for each 3-week session. For elementary school students, three sessions will run July 8-25 (Monday–Thursday), at Timber Ridge Elementary School:

  • Session 1: Kindergarten to 1st Grade Transition (8-10:30 a.m.)
  • Session 2: English Language Arts, for grades 1-8 (8-10:30 a.m.)
  • Session 3: Math, for grades 1-8 (10:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.)

Mount Si High School .5 PE Credit*

This outdoor adventure Physical Education (PE) course is an excellent opportunity for high school students, including incoming freshman, to earn a .5 credit that applies toward their P.E. graduation requirements. This course will feature Northwest fitness activities and diverse recreation opportunities in a variety of locations. Students will learn fundamental skills that promote outdoor activities (hiking, biking, rock climbing) and healthy fitness habits. Cost is $315, plus the cost of field trips. Class is limited to 30 students. Registration closes June 1, or sooner, if the class limit is reached. For student in grades 8-11 (during the 2018-19 school year), the PE class is offered July 8-19, Monday-Friday, at various local field trip locations. (Meeting location to be added later.)

Camp Invention

Camp Invention inspires confidence in curious children -- not only for a week, but for a lifetime. At camp this summer, children will team up to rebuild ships and design underwater equipment, explore circuit boards, motors and gears as they design a remote-control bot, take on the role of engineers, fabricators and innovators, and be successful entrepreneurs as they code bots to turn a polluted wasteland into a money-making machine. We look forward to you joining us for this SUPERCHARGED week! Cost is $255. For students entering grades K-6, the session runs June 24-28, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at Timber Ridge Elementary School.
