Congressional Art Competition for High School Students

 

Snoqualmie Valley School District was contacted by the office of Congresswoman Kim Schrier, who represents the 8th Legislative District of Washington State. They shared information about a Congressional Art Competition for high school students and encouraged Snoqualmie Valley artists to participate. 

 

The Congressional Institute sponsors this nationwide high school visual art competition each spring to recognize and encourage artistic talent. Students submit entries (one per student) to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning works of art are then displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year.
