Snoqualmie Middle School Parent Meeting – May 23

Parents and guardians of students slated to attend Snoqualmie Middle School (SMS) next fall are invited to an informational meeting on Thursday, May 23 at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place at the MSHS Freshman Campus (9200 Railroad Ave. Snoqualmie, WA 98065), which will be converted into Snoqualmie Middle School this summer. The purpose of the meeting is two-fold:

  • At 6 p.m., attendees will learn about the District’s new One-to-One Technology Initiative, which will be rolled out in the fall at both SMS and Mount Si High School. Intended for all Snoqualmie Valley students in grades 6-12, this program will be added at Twin Falls and Chief Kanim middle schools in 2020. Students at Two Rivers School have been piloting the 1:1 Technology Initiative since last spring.
  • Around 6:30 p.m., Kim Jones, president of the Snoqualmie Valley PTSA Council, will lead the meeting to establish the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for Snoqualmie Middle School. This is the meeting where the official vote to reinstate the SMS PTA will take place. Charter memberships will be accepted and a vote will be taken on the standing rules, budget and nominating committee. (NOTE: At least 25 charter memberships are needed to officially “re-charter” a PTA for the school.)

Parent participation is vital to ensuring SMS students and staff can benefit from PTA support and partnership next year, so we hope you will join us.

For more information in the coming months, a new SMS school website is currently under construction. Check back for updates later this summer, as the start of the 2019-20 school year nears.
