Two Rivers School 2019 Graduation Celebration

 

On June 5, staff, families and friends of Two Rivers School seniors attended the school’s 2019 Graduation ceremony at the Si View Community Center, honoring 20 students who earned their high school diplomas.

 

Congratulations to the Two Rivers Class of 2019 graduates (listed in alphabetical order):  Hayden Adams, Annie Armour, Jack Barrett, Jessica Bay, Tyson Beckett, Kailey Bogart, Carson Boyle, Zoey Chen, Preston Clark, Glacie Kehoe-Padilla, Elliot Kryger, Jared Lynch, Ioane Mersberg-Kloes, Jamie Nassar, Kenneth Pennington, Libby Russell, Michael Slaton, Emma Raine Stoehr, Halle Westerlund, and Sapphire Whelan.

Congratulations Two Rivers School Class of 2019 graduates!

 

Principal Rhonda Schmidt led the ceremony and thanked many community partners who help make Two Rivers a special place including:  Trail Youth Coffee Home, Snoqualmie Valley YMCA, Friends of Youth, Sound Mental Health, Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, King County Parks, Snoqualmie Historical Society, Eastgate Public Health, Maggie at King County Library, Snoqualmie Valley Community Network, Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation, Night on the Dark Trail, Valley Center Stage, Photographer Mary Miller, and the Si View Community Center.

 

While School Board Directors were seated on stage as special guests, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning and Technology Jeff Hogan was invited to give the commencement message. Each student had the opportunity to share their thoughts and appreciation for supportive families and teachers, and Superintendent Rob Manahan awarded Two Rivers diplomas.

 

In addition, several community supporters awarded scholarships to students, as follows:

  • Ingrid and Eric Anderson (Ingrid and her brother were Two Rivers graduates) – Libby Russell and Sapphire Whelan
  • North Bend Educational and Cultural Association – Libby Russell
  • Robert B. Taylor Scholarship (sponsored by the Coffing family who own Black Dog Café, in honor of their uncle) – Jared Lynch
  • Snoqualmie Falls Credit Union – Jared Lynch
  • Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis – Kailey Bogart, Libby Russel and Halle Westerlund
  • Snoqualmie Valley Rotary – Jamie Nassar and Halle Westerlund

In other news, Two Rivers will become a Big Picture High School next fall. The new educational program will partner with local businesses to offer worksite experience and community mentor support for students. Watch for more information later this summer and consider how you or your company might partner with Two Rivers to provide students this valuable experience.
