Schools Foundation Donates $84,000 for District Initiatives

The Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation recently presented a check for $84,000 to help fund district-wide initiatives at all Snoqualmie Valley schools. This amount was raised during the Schools Foundation Spring Fundraising Luncheon on March 21.

Thanks to generous donations from community members and businesses, the following districtwide initiatives will benefit all SVSD students during the 2019-20 school year:

  • Library Collection Resources for Middle Schools (6-8) – $30,000 ($20K for SMS, $10K for CKMS)
  • Career Technical Education (CTE)/Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) high school course materials (9-12) – $16,000 (Biomedical Sciences and Welding supplies)
  • AVID College and Career Readiness Program (6-12) – $15,000 Foundation funding has helped to establish this effective program for grades 6-12 at CKMS, TFMS and MSHS. This additional funding helps provide training for more teachers to receive the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) training with the district goal to implement key concepts from the program in classrooms districtwide.
  • Middle School Math Support (6-8) – $15,000 ($5K per middle school)
  • K-2 Coding Software, Curricula, Materials (K-2) – $6,000 ($1K per elementary school)
  • Career Exploration Fridays Support (9-12) – $2,000 for field trip excursion costs (in partnership with Snoqualmie Valley Community Network)
