Schools Foundation Awards SVSD Classroom Grants

 

The Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation has announced a wide range of classroom grants that it will be able to fund for 2019-20 school year, totaling $19,803.54. These grants were among requests totaling over $88,508.19 submitted to the Schools Foundation. The grants awarded to Snoqualmie Valley educators this fall are listed below.

 

To continue its effort to support innovative learning programs and classroom resources, the Foundation is launching its Fall 2019 “All In for Kids” Clickathon fundraising campaign this week.  The campaign will run from November 20 to December 4.  To make a donation online toward classroom innovation, please click here:  http://www.svsfoundation.org/.  All proceeds from the clickathon directly benefit Snoqualmie Valley schools and students.

In addition to funding classroom grants, the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation supports district-wide initiatives each year that benefit all Snoqualmie Valley schools. The Foundation presented a donation of $84,000 last June which is funding the following initiatives for students this year:

  • Library Collection Resources for Middle Schools (6-8) – $30,000 ($20K for SMS, $10K for CKMS)
  • Career Technical Education (CTE)/Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) high school course materials (9-12) – $16,000 (Biomedical Sciences and Welding supplies)
  • AVID College and Career Readiness Program (6-12) – $15,000 Foundation funding has helped to establish this effective program for grades 6-12 at CKMS, TFMS and MSHS. This additional funding helps provide training for more teachers to receive the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) training with the district goal to implement key concepts from the program in classrooms districtwide. This two more AVID classes will be offered at SMS as well.
  • Middle School Math Support (6-8) – $15,000 ($5K per middle school)
  • K-2 Coding Software, Curricula, Materials (K-2) – $6,000 ($1K per elementary school)
  • Career Exploration Fridays Support (9-12) – $2,000 for field trip excursion costs (in partnership with Snoqualmie Valley Community Network)
