Transition Learning Center Celebrates Class of 2020 Graduates
The Transition Learning Center (TLC) held a special celebration on Thursday, June 18, for eight students who completed their program this year. Due to COVID-19, they planned an individualized event, scheduling graduates in 15-minute time slots to ensure social distancing while celebrating the accomplishments of each. TLC Staff, Superintendent Robert Manahan, Executive Director of Student Services Nancy Meeks, School Board Members and families were present to honor the Class of 2020.
The 2020 TLC graduates (listed alphabetically) include: Esmeralda Alma, Dylan Cilley, Mac Davis, Ashton Fender, Aaron Gibbs, Jarrod Han, Charlie Hawkins, and Camden Quinn. (See their photos below.)
The Transition Learning Center provides a program to prepare students for life after high school based on their individual educational needs. TLC implements the Life Centered Career Education curriculum, which focuses on daily living skills, personal-social skills, and occupational guidance and preparation, for students with disabilities ages 18-21.
Also, happy retirement Nancy Meeks and Maria Nutter!
