Results from the ELPA21 Assessment Are Available Online

Individual scores from the English Language Proficiency Assessment for the 21st Century (ELPA21), which was administered spring of 2020, are now available online.  Parents and guardians of English Learner (EL) students will receive notification directly this week, with the following information.

To review your student’s results, log in to Skyward Family Access with your username and password, select the “Portfolio – Documents” tab on the left. Along with the Individual Score Report, there is also a score report cover letter that explains the assessment and various levels.

Please note that due to the COVID-19 closure this spring, not all students were able to complete all domains of the ELPA21 assessment. If your child did not take a subtest, the score report will show that domain was not attempted. If your child was not able to begin the assessment, there will not be a score report available. And, if a student missed any portion of the assessment, they cannot be considered as proficient.  At this time, the Snoqualmie Valley School District will keep these students in our EL program as Emerging or Progressing, based on their prior Individual Score Report.

In the fall, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) will provide school districts direction on how to proceed for these students. Based on the guidance from OSPI, you will receive notification from SVSD if your child’s status changes.
