MSHS National Honor Society Welcomes 186 New Members!

This fall, 186 Mount Si High School students were inducted into the school’s National Honor Society (NHS) chapter in a virtual ceremony on October 20.

According to National Honor Society Advisor and Mount Si Spanish Teacher Linda Wickswat, this was a new record count of NHS inductees for Mount Si High School!

Sophomores, juniors and seniors who have earned and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible to apply for membership.  National Honor Society recognizes scholarship, leadership, character and community service, for which each member contributes a minimum of 60 hours of community service per year.

To earn community service hours, students are engaged in a variety of projects in their neighborhood and the community. For example, some are pen pals with senior citizens and patients receiving physical therapy at home – with the hope of brightening their day.  Others have signed up to volunteer at the Northwest Railway Museum, Encompass, Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank, or help on park restoration projects, over the course of the school year.

If you represent a community organization or event needing volunteer support that high school students could fulfill, please email your opportunity to Linda Wickswat at:  wickswatl@svsd410.org.
