New Assistant Principal to Join Mount Si High School
Ms. Krista McClain Lallemand has been hired as an Assistant Principal for Mount Si High School, following an extensive search and interview process. While she officially joins the school’s leadership team on July 1, she may start a couple days a week this spring after relocating from Tennessee.
“Krista McClain Lallemand emerged as the top candidate following a very competitive hiring process. She has a strong instructional background, having taught high school science in both urban and suburban settings. She was also a 2016 Educator of the Year when teaching at Steilacoom High School, then went on to serve as an assistant principal. Krista is relocating to Washington State, and we are excited Krista has accepted our offer to join our staff and Mount Si High School community,” explained Principal John Belcher.
Most recently, McClain Lallemand was an Assistant Principal and Career and Technical Education Director at Steilacoom High School for three years, as well as a Principal Intern and Science Department Curriculum Leader. She has ten years of experience teaching Biology, Chemistry and AP Psychology at high schools in the states of Washington, Maryland, Tennessee, and Illinois. She earned her Principal Certification at Seattle Pacific University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from National-Louis University in Chicago, IL; and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN.
McClain Lellemand’s position will replace that of Associate Principal Greg Hart, who plans to retire this summer.
