2021-22 School Calendar/Schedule

We are pleased to safely return to school in person, full-time, five days a week, for all grade levels in the fall.  For students who prefer 100% remote learning next year (due to medical or other reasons), our district is partnering with STRIDE Learning for K-12 online learning. Our two-hour Early Dismissals will return to Fridays, allowing time for teacher collaboration, planning, and professional development.

Elementary Class Assignments

Families of students in grades K-5 can verify who their assigned classroom teachers will be using Family Access on Friday, August 27 at 4 p.m. Parents will need to use their unique Family Access login and password. If you forgot your parent/guardian password or are new to SVSD, please contact your school office in August.

ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

New Student Enrollment

To enroll a student, please visit Online Enrollment on the district homepage.  Before beginning online enrollment, we suggest parents/guardians have several documents handy to be ready to upload; the online process takes 20-30 minutes.

Kindergarten Information

Children who turn 5 years of age by August 31 are eligible for full-day kindergarten at no cost to the families. Please register through Online Enrollment. Kindergarten students will meet their teachers through Family Connection Meetings (by appointment) August 31-September 2, at all Snoqualmie Valley elementary schools. Schools will be in contact with each Kindergarten family in August, to schedule their meeting. The first day of Kindergarten is Friday, September 3.

Full-time Remote Learning

For the 2021-22 school year, SVSD is partnering with STRIDE Learning to provide a fully remote learning option for Snoqualmie Valley K-12 families, within our district. Students who choose this option will be enrolled through the SVSD Parent Partnership Program (PPP), and will be supported by STRIDE Learning teachers and PPP staff. For more information about this option, including how to enroll, click here.

Child Find

The Snoqualmie Valley School District offers regularly scheduled, free developmental screenings for children ages 3-5 years old. The first screening date is September 3, 2021. Click here for more Child Find screening dates and information on how to request an appointment.

HEALTH INFORMATION

Immunization Requirements

Student immunizations must be up-to-date PRIOR to attending the first day of school. To ensure your student has all vaccinations required to attend school, check our Washington’s 2021-22 Immunization Requirements, (en espanol) Find more immunization resources, here.

Physical Forms

To participate in school sports, student in grades 6-12 must get a physical examination from a health care provider. Families are encouraged to take care of this requirement during the summer, especially for fall sports. Below are links to each school's physical forms and other information. Please print off the physical form and ask your doctor to complete and sign it. This information must be updated every two years.

COVID Precautions

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) released updated K-12 guidance for this fall. It reflects new CDC recommendations to minimize COVID-19 transmission and maximize in-person instruction. Masks are required indoors only for everyone vaccinated or not; physical distancing requirements are much more flexible to allow full-time in-person instruction for all students; and, quarantine rules are updated to reduce student exclusions from school. All Snoqualmie Valley Schools will be following DOH guidance (updated August 11) for the 2021-22 school year.

As recommend by Public Health, our mitigations will include:

  • Promoting Vaccines
  • Universal Masks for Staff, Students, Visitors
  • Additional Layered Mitigation • Distancing of 3 feet to degree possible in classrooms • Ventilation and Cleaning • Hand Hygiene / Respiratory Etiquette • Staying Home when Sick • Responding to Cases and Outbreaks • Testing and Contract Tracing with Isolation / Quarantine • Reporting Cases and Outbreaks
  • In addition, our district has rapid COVID-19 tests to help screen potentially positive individuals and close contacts.

To learn what's the same and what's different this year, please refer to SVSD Safety Guideline for 2021-22 (added August 13) and explore our Frequently Asked Questions for Families (added August 23).

COVID Vaccinations

We encourage all eligible individuals to receive the COVID vaccination. In partnership with Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, COVID and some back-to-school vaccinations will be FREE for SVSD students at clinics. Staff, family members and community neighbors are also welcome. The clinics held in our middle schools offer the Pfizer vaccine for ages 12+ and other immunizations for ages 11+. Sign up now for appointments on September 7-9 for 1st and 2nd doses: https://tinyurl.com/3mds2j92. (Sign-up before 2:30 p.m. the day before your clinic date.)

FOOD SERVICES

Free Meals Offered

School meals will continue to be offered at no cost for all students for the 2021-22 school year! The federal government has confirmed that it will continue the support it began in March 2020 due to COVID, providing school districts reimbursement for school meals.

School Menus

Find Food Services information online. August/September menus are now posted here

Meals will be offered at all schools during their scheduled lunch times, and before school for breakfasts. Students who choose the full-time remote learning option may also pick up a meal, at no cost, at their neighborhood school's kitchen during the lunch hour.  Curbside pick-up service at our schools and delivery of meals by bus into neighborhoods is no longer available, as our staff and busses are needed to serve students at schools.

Apply for Free and Reduced Cost Meals Program

Although meals will be offered at no cost to all, families who qualify for this income-based federal program are still encouraged to apply each year, since there are other benefits associated with this program. Families may download the application here, apply in Family Access, or pick up a hard copy at the District Office. The 2021-22 application is now available here.

Make Payments Online

Families can make Online Payments with a credit card for items such as program fees, extracurricular participation, etc. Lunch account payments (for ala carte purchases) will be processed after August 23. Course fees may not be available for payment until class schedules are finalized, after school begins.

COMMUNICATIONS

E-News Communication

E-News is the primary way our district and all SVSD schools communicate with parents. Parents/guardians of active students will automatically receive E-News from their current school and the district, based on email families provide to our Skyward student database. If you want to unsubscribe at any time, click on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of a message.

Emergency Text Notifications

Our district uses a mass notification system called SchoolMessenger to inform families if there is a school emergency, including school closures or late starts. In addition to automated calls and email notifications, the district can send emergency text messages to parents and staff who have provided their cell phone numbers to the district’s database and have “opted in” to receive texts. (Since there could be a cost associated with texting from phone providers, individuals must “opt in” to allow emergency texts.) To sign up:  on your mobile phone, address a text to: 67587, type “Y” or “YES” as the message, and hit send. For more information, read this flyer.

Family Access

This online tool allows parents and guardians to manage and monitor their students’ records and progress. This includes checking grades, missing assignments, attendance, immunization records, emergency contacts, and food purchases. Parents can also sign up for notifications regarding attendance and low lunch balances.  Schools provide each family with a unique parent login/password to ensure confidentiality of their student’s information.

Parent Notification

Sign up annually for our free BusBulletin service to get an email or text when your child's school bus will be delayed more than 10 minutes, due to road conditions or other unanticipated events. Sign up after August 23, once updated 2021-22 bus routes have been posted.
