Mount Si Team Places First in 48-Hour Film Off Contest
Mount Si High School students won first place in the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) 48-Hour Film Off Contest. In this challenge, approximately 30 high school teams competed to make the best possible film, from conception to post-production, in just 48 hours. Congratulations to Mount Si’s Champion Film Team (pictured left to right below): Liann Downs, Roman Medford, Jude Ames, Beckett Brewer and Sam Holmes.

The 2022 competition took place from noon Friday, April 1, through noon Sunday, April 3. And, all teams were also given specific prompts that must be reflected in the finished film. This year’s prompts included:
- Line of dialog: Challenge Accepted
- Prop: Mirror
- Character: Florist
Watch Mount Si High School’s First Place Film: "The Slow and the Serious"
A jury selected the top 20 short films to be screened at the NFFTY festival in Seattle April 30. Then, the winning films were awarded based on a combination of audience voting and jury deliberation – and announced May 1!
