Eligible Families Encouraged to Apply for Free/Reduced Meals

Public schools play a vital role in children’s health by providing free and reduced-price meals to students in need. All Snoqualmie Valley schools participate in National School Lunch & Breakfast programs in which families may qualify for complete or partial meal subsidies.

Families must fill out a new free/reduced-price meal application every school year, to be eligible. Last year’s application will be valid only until October 13, 2016. After that date, if a new approved application is not received, meals will be full price. Please note, too, that parents may complete a new application at any time throughout the school year, should circumstances make their family eligible for assistance.

To learn if a family qualifies for assistance, check the 2016-17 USDA Income Guidelines

The application process is simple and confidential. Families can apply one of three ways by: completing the application online through Family Access, downloading a 2016-17 application from the district website, or filling out a hard copy application available at all schools and the District Offices. Visit the Food Services webpage for instructions.

Some children automatically qualify for free meal benefits, such as: children in foster care, homeless and migrant students, and households taking part in the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).
