School Bus Safety: Know When to Stop, When to Pass

With the change to daylight savings time, we want to remind drivers of the rules around passing school buses – see illustration below.  Please proceed cautiously, especially on dark mornings, when students are waiting for their school buses to arrive.

Parents, have you signed up for Bus Bulletin service yet?

The Transportation Department uses this tool to provide notifications about delays to specific school bus routes. Sign up to receive an email or text message when your student’s route will be delayed more than 10 minutes. Click here for Bus Bulletin information.

WANTED:  School Bus Drivers

The Snoqualmie Valley School District is hiring more bus drivers and substitutes to support the transportation needs of our schools. Delays in service is sometimes attributed to a limited amount of drivers available – especially when flu season may stretch the team further. If you are seeking a part-time opportunity, or want a second career with some flexibility, please consider joining our team of professional drivers. The district provides paid training, reimbursement toward CDL license requirements, competitive wages and benefits.  Drivers who are parents in our district also enjoy having the same schedule as their school-aged kids. Watch a brief video to learn more, apply through the district website under Jobs, or call the Transportation Dept. at 425-831-8028 with questions.
