CKMS Art Students Create Chihuly-Inspired Chandelier

Chief Kanim Middle School art students created an impressive Chihuly-inspired chandelier that now hangs in the school’s main hallway, near the library. This 11-month project started with a donation for supplies from the PTSA, then lots of students helping to transform 1,500+ water bottles (using paint, mod podge and chicken wire) into a colorful life-sized work of art. CKMS Art Teacher Julie Lagace was excited to share the finished product. She also gave a special shout-out to students Nicole Alexander and Grace Carnes for their perseverance and extra hours of help to ensure the project got finished.
