NHS Honors 74 Seniors for Service and Academic Achievement
At Mount Si High School’s senior ceremony for National Honor Society, 74 members received cords, medals, or stoles to wear at graduation – for maintaining academic excellence (3.5 GPA or higher) and engaging in community service throughout high school.
Six of the members who were honored had performed over 400 hours of community service, each, and 34 others logged more than 200 hours each. In total, these graduating seniors logged in about 6,338 hours this year. Among all 340 NHS members, students reported a combined total of 21,690 hours of community service this year!
“These students are involved in community service at libraries, homeless shelters, mission trips, food banks, day cares, churches, youth groups, hospitals, environmental restoration, tutoring at SVSD schools, helping senior citizens, and the list goes on and on,” explained National Honor Society advisor Linda Wickswat.
Congratulations Mount Si Class of 2019 NHS members,
