Free & Reduced-Price Meal Applications Are Available
Public schools play a vital role in children’s health by providing free and reduced-price meals to students in need. All Snoqualmie Valley schools participate in the National School Lunch & Breakfast program in which families may qualify for complete or partial meal subsidies.
Families must fill out a new free/reduced-price meal application every school year, to be eligible. The application process is simple and confidential, and available in 34 languages. Families can complete the application online through Family Access, download a 2019-20 application from the district website, or request a hard copy application from any school or the district office. Visit the Food Services webpage for instructions.
If your student qualified for free or reduced lunch at the end of the last school year, they remain approved untilOctober 16. However, you must submit a new application if you wish to continue receiving benefits for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. If an approved application is not submitted prior to October 16, families will pay full price for meals.
If you are awaiting approval, please send money or a lunch for your student until your qualification has been determined. Once your application has been processed, an email or letter with the results will be sent to your primary email or address on file.
To learn if your family qualifies for assistance, check the 2019-20 Income Guidelines for the USDA Child Nutrition Program. Some children automatically qualify for free meal benefits, including children in foster care, homeless and migrant students, and households taking part in the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP).
Please note, too, that parents may complete a new application at any time throughout the school year, should circumstances make their family eligible for assistance later in the year.
