We are excited to launch the district’s new One-to-One Device Initiative in which all students in grades 6-12 will be assigned a laptop computer to use at school and at home for the duration of their education in our district. This program will help ensure all SVSD students have equitable access to technology resources and learning opportunities to help prepare them for their future.
Students at Snoqualmie Middle School and Mount Si High School will be the first to receive the new devices. Chief Kanim Middle School, Twin Falls Middle School, and Two Rivers School students will receive devices by mid-year.
DELIVERY UPDATE: Our Technology Team was planning to assign devices to SMS and MSHS students within the first two weeks of school. However, the computer manufacturer has informed us that, due to international shipping/tariff issues, there will be a delay of a few weeks. The manufacturer anticipates delivery toward the end of September. In the meantime, our Technology Team is working to re-instate computer “Carts On Wheels” (known as COWs) to ensure students at both schools will have computer access until the new devices arrive.
IMPORTANT PARENT REMINDER: For students in grades 6-12 to participate in this program and receive a device, guardians for must sign the online permission form – as part of the RSVP Process in Family Access. The RSVP Process is open August 21 through September 15.
