Kindergarten Registration

Updated as of 3-6-13:
If you missed the March 5th Registration events in our district, please visit your neighborhood elementary school to sign up your student for Kindergarten next fall.  See information below for what you'll need to bring to your school to enroll your student.

Kindergarten Registration Sessions
On Tuesday, March 5, 2013, all five Snoqualmie Valley elementary schools will host two registration sessions at 1:30-3:00 pm and 6:00-7:30pm -- to enroll students planning to start Kindergarten next fall, as well as any new students planning to join our district in other elementary grades next fall.
Kindergarten Registration Flyer 2013
To be eligible to start Kindergarten in the 2013-14 school year, children must be five years of age by August 31, 2013. Parents will need to bring the following information to their future school to enroll their student: birth certificate, immunization history, and emergency health/contact information.

In our District, there are two options for Kindergarten instruction:
  • Half-Day Kindergarten is available to all eligible students at all our elementary schools in the district. Because half-day kindergarten is funded in Washington State by state and local dollars, there is no fee to attend the morning or afternoon kindergarten sessions. Half-day students will attend either the AM or PM sessions Mondays through Thursdays, plus an extended session every other Friday throughout the year, from the morning start time to the early-release Friday dismissal time at their school. (For example, click here for the 2012-13 Half-day Kindergarten Friday Rotation Schedule. A new schedule for next year's 2013-14 school year will be posted later this spring.)
  • Full-Day Kindergarten is an optional program provided by the Snoqualmie Valley School District on a limited, space-available basis at each of our five elementary schools. The program is partially funded by a tuition fee which covers the difference between the state-funded half-day program and the full-day session. After completing the Kindergarten Registration packet, parents interested in the Full-Day Kindergarten program should put their name on the Full-Day Kindergarten list at their home elementary school. A lottery drawing at each elementary school determines which students will be enrolled in the full-day program. Families participating in the lottery will be notified later in March.
