All State Musicians Selected

Several middle school students from our Snoqualmie Valley schools' music program were chosen for the 2013 Washington Music Educators Association Junior All-State groups. Each student had to submit a recorded audition and will perform in a special concert in Vancouver, Washington in February.

From Snoqualmie Middle School:

  • Georgia Schnepf, Keira Mix, Meghan McLaughlin and Julie Cleveland (6th grade) -- Youth Choir
  • Alison Caswell and Hayla Takele (7th grade) -- Treble Choir
  • Tyler Bateman (7th grade) -- Band

From Twin Falls Middle School:

  • Kaitlyn Rogers (8th grade) -- Mixed Choir
  • Adele Werner (7th grade) -- Rainier Band on clarinet

From Chief Kanim Middle School:

  • Claire Old Loohuis (8th grade) -- Mixed Choir
  • Angel See (7th grade) -- Baker Band on clarinet

Also, from Mount Si High School, two talented musicians were selected for the 2013 All-Northwest Music Educators Conference. Both students will travel to Portland in February for three days of intense rehearsals culminating in a performance on the final day of the conference.

  • Boone Hapke (11th grade) -- All-Northwest Orchestra on bassoon (He is one of eight bassoonists from six Northwest states to be selected to this ensemble.)
  • Christian Henriksen (11th grade) -- All-State Concert Band on flute
