Fourteen Students Selected for All-State Band & Choir

Fourteen Snoqualmie Valley student musicians and singers were selected for All-State bands and choirs this year by the Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA). From our district, six middle school students were chosen to perform in the Junior All State band and choir, while eight Mount Si High School students will be part of the prestigious All-State music groups.
Students had to audition on tape, adhering to specific guidelines, and demonstrate excellent musicianship and vocal technique. Then judges hired by WMEA listened to all the tapes and selected, blindly, the best performances. The students who are selected for this honor will join other young musicians from across the state to play under the direction of renowned conductors and educators, at the annual WMEA State Conference in Yakima, Washington on February 16, 2014.
