School Board Renews Superintendent’s 3-Year Contract

During their regular meeting on January 22nd, the Board of Directors took action to renew Superintendent Joel Aune’s contract with the Snoqualmie Valley School District by a unanimous vote. The new contract will span the next three years: 2015-16, 2016-17, and 2017-18.

School Board President Geoff Doy explained, “The renewal of Superintendent Aune’s contract until June 2018 is affirmation of the School Board’s confidence in Mr. Aune’s leadership at this exciting time in our school district’s history. We have seen a steady stream of excellent results and real, measurable progress from all of our schools during Mr. Aune’s tenure. During the next three years with Mr. Aune at the helm I see us making even greater strides towards our vision of being the best school district in the state by any measure.”

“I sincerely appreciate the support of the Board and their sponsorship of the great work that is occurring throughout the District to make our schools the best they can be. Their leadership, support, and encouragement is key to our success both now and in the future,” added Superintendent Aune. “I am extremely proud of what is being accomplished in our schools and how far we have come as a school community. The future of our District is a very bright one, and I believe our best days are yet to come.”

Aune, who was named Superintendent in 2005, is currently in his tenth year with the Snoqualmie Valley School District.
