Kiwanis Donates Dictionaries to EVERY Third Grader
Did you ever wonder what the longest word in the English language is? Ask any third grader...and they can look it up for you.
Every year, the Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis organization makes a special visit to all Snoqualmie Valley elementary schools. They come bearing gifts of shiny new dictionaries – enough for every third grade student to have one to keep and cherish for his/her very own.
Teachers enjoy this tradition as well, building lessons around the reference books to help students hone their research skills.
The donation of dictionaries to all third graders in the District represents a long-standing Kiwanis tradition that has served hundreds of local school children through the years. Thank you, Snoqualmie Valley Kiwanis, for your continued generosity!
See photos below of a recent visit to third graders at Opstad Elementary School,
where Kiwanis representatives distributed new dictionaries...and found the longest word!
