Again this year, we extend our gratitude to two community volunteers groups, for their volunteer service to Snoqualmie Valley schools. Their time and energy is appreciated and helps the District ensure our schools look great, in time to welcome families to the new school year.
On Sunday, August 16th, the Cascade Covenant Church rallied a significant group of volunteers to spiff up school grounds. This year, they focused their efforts on North Bend Elementary School, weeding garden beds, pruning shrubs, and spreading bark provided by the District, around the entire school. These efforts complement NBE’s new roof and weatherization that was added this summer as one of the bond improvement projects.
In addition, on Saturday, August 29, a large group of volunteers from the Snoqualmie Valley Alliance divided their efforts among three school buildings. Opstad Elementary School and both Mount Si High School’s main and freshman campuses benefited. They weeded flower beds, spread bark, pruned trees and shrubs, and picked up litter around the schools’ entrances and parking lots. Wildcat paw prints at the entrance of MSHS also got a fresh coat of paint.
