Give Good Community Awards Recognize Staff, Students


The “Give Good” Awards aim to celebrate the everyday heroes, outstanding businesses and local organizations, recognizing inspirational people and highlighting the hard work invested into making our community a great place to live.

The following received 2016 Give Good Awards for their good deeds and inspiration, at a March 4 community awards ceremony. Congratulations to all! (Those highlighted in blue have special connections to Snoqualmie Valley schools.)
  • ARTS: Gary Schwartz
  • BUSINESS: The Linnerooth Team Realtors - Windermere (Sue Linnerooth)
  • COURAGE: Bruce Muir
  • ENVIRONMENTAL: Two Rivers Middle School
  • EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE: Kirk Dunckel, Chief Kanim Middle School principal (CKMS teachers Andrea Lim and Alison Means were also nominated for this award.)
  • YOUTH ADVOCATE: Mike Ruhland
  • PARENT VOLUNTEER: Liz Schomber
  • INSPIRATIONAL YOUTH: Aiden Schomber, student at Opstad Elementary School
  • TEEN SPIRIT: Maiya Weinmaster, student at Mount Si High School
  • YOUTH LEADERSHIP: Josh Budig
  • UNSUNG HERO: Hazel Pownall
  • SPIRIT OF THE VALLEY: Stacy Cepeda
